Background:

Born and raised in Minnesota, I came to California after graduating Business College and had a career in local Aerospace and Nuclear work.

As a stay-at-home mom I became active in local volunteering at the boy's schools and local hospitals.

In 1995  I was diagnosed with cancer as a result of my earlier employment at a nuclear test laboratory and became an environmental activist.  In 1995 I was instrumental in getting EPA oversight on the old Hughes/Ratheon property.  In 2005 I was successful in getting environmental testing done on the Dayton Canyon property.

In 2006 I started to work on an SEC (Special Exposure Cohort) Petition for our local Cold War Workers who developed cancers related to their work.  By 2009, after 5 years of negotiating with the Dept of Labor  and the National Institute of Occupation Health and Science I have been successful in getting Federal compensation for the workers from the Downey, DeSoto, Canoga and Santa Susana Area IV from 1948 through 1964.

In 2008 I received “Woman of the Year” from the 23rd Senate District.
