

In 2005, she was
awarded the Walk of Hearts bronze plaque for inspired teaching. Her Bronze
Heart, awarded by the West Hills/Canoga Park Chamber of Commerce, may be found
on Sherman Way across from the Madrid Theatre.
A leader in the
community, she has served on the Friends of the Madrid since its inception. She
also received a medal for her contribution to the Draft Board #101 as its
chairman.
Jacqueline Young
also has served the community as a member of the West Hills Optimist Club, as
District Essay and JOOI Chair, and as Lt. Governor for Zone 10. She has served
the East Woodland Hills Woman's Club as a Director for five years. Also, she
has served on the CSUN Alumni Board.
Receiving
numerous awards for her service, she was selected by the West Hills
Neighborhood Council in 2007 and has served as a Board Member on SMMAC,
currently serving as Secretary. She also serves on the Emergency Preparedness
Committee, the Education Committee, the Senior Committee and the Cinema
Heritage Project.
Goals: As Chairperson of
the Budget Committee of the West Hills Neighborhood Council, her advocacy for
transparency regarding the West Hills Neighborhood Council budget is well
known. She is responsible for the form and instructions on the website for
budget requests and she is committed to prompt responses.
