TRAILER ADVERTISING LAW SIGNED BY GOVERNOR

Great news! In a huge victory for our community, state legislation that will help rid our streets of mobile billboard blight was signed into law by Governor Schwarzenegger late yesterday, September 30th.

Your West Hills Neighborhood Council, among others, was a staunch supporter of this legislation!

The new law goes into effect on January 1, 2011. It allows Cities to ban advertising on trailers, among other things.

Councilman Smith has said: "We introduced a motion in July 2010 that would be automatically triggered if AB 2756 would pass, directing the City Attorney to draft an ordinance to regulate the unhitched trailer billboards.

Now that the bill passed work can start on the langauge of the ordinance. We will announce further progress."
