A Homelessness Town Hall featuring leaders from the city, county and relief agencies will focus on the homelessness crisis in the West Valley.
The event, set for 7-8:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12 at the Canoga Park Senior Citizen Center, 7326 Jordan Ave., is sponsored by City Councilmember Bob Blumenfield with support from Councilmember Mitchell Englander.
Scheduled panelists include Peter Lynn, executive director of the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA); Stephanie Klasky-Gamer, president and CEO of L.A. Family Housing; LAPD Commander Todd Chamberlain; West Valley Neighborhood Prosecutor Raffy Astvasadoorian; Molly Rysman, housing and homelessness deputy for County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl; and Nancy Volpert, director of public policy for Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles.
Service providers will accept donations of canned goods, socks and toiletries at the event.
