National Park Service researchers recently discovered two litters of mountain lion kittens in the eastern Santa Susana Mountains. The three females and two males were ear-tagged and returned to their dens.
Park officials say that the father of both litters is probably the same lion.
Last year, the West Hills Neighborhood Council voted to support construction of a wildlife corridor bridge across the 101 Freeway at Liberty Canyon in Agoura. When completed, the bridge is expected to reestablish a link between the Santa Susana and Santa Monica Mountains, helping improve biodiversity of mountain lions and other animals in the region.
