The West Hills Neighborhood Council joined the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks in sponsoring the Eighth Annual West Hills Arts & Crafts Fall Fest at Shadow Ranch Park on Oct. 29.
The free Halloween-themed event included kids’ entertainment, a costume contest, food trucks, carnival activities and raffles.
In addition, food and clothing dropped off at the West Hills Neighborhood Council booth were forwarded to groups assisting homeless and impoverished individuals and families.
The Fall Fest tradition began in 2003 with a series of early-autumn events produced by the WHNC and the Canoga Park-West Hills Chamber of Commerce in the parking lot in front of Fields Market. In recent years, the WHNC has partnered with the staff of the Shadow Ranch Recreation Center under the leadership of park director Christina Henry and WHNC Special Events Chair Ed Young.
