Councilmember Mitchell Englander is proud to commence the fifth class of the E-12 Excellence in Public Service high school leadership development program to train and cultivate the next generation of young leaders in our community.

During this unique opportunity students will learn how the City of Los Angeles functions, participate in the political and civic process, formulate public policies and expand their leadership capacity. Through weekly meetings at our Community Service Center in Chatsworth and throughout the City, students will interact with a dynamic groups of leaders in public service. Students will also learn about issues affecting their community including public safety, transportation, homelessness, and the environment.

E-12 is an invitation to students who are focused, civically engaged and community-oriented. Applicants need not have any experience in public policy - only a desire to make a real difference in their community and the lives of others.  Application deadline is May 15, 2017.
