WHNC 11/5/16 Community Cleanup Event

On Nov. 5, the West Hills Neighborhood Council, in conjunction with our partners at The Church at Rocky Peak, Key Club and the Canoga Park-West Hills Chamber, organized a blockbuster community cleanup and beautification event that has made a lasting and visible impact on the West Hills community. This cleanup was our last project in competing for the Clean Streets LA Challenge, which uses grant funds to reward communities that take steps to resolve chronic community beautification issues like illegal dumping and street cleanliness. Hundreds of volunteers worked at six sites throughout our community, bagging approximately 230 bags of trash from our streets, schools and other public facilities. Our projects also included landscaping at the West Hills Post Office and Pomelo and Nevada Elementary Schools. Thank you to our amazing partners and volunteers who made this day a success! We also want to thank the U..S Postal Service for its incredible partnership with our community and Home Depot for donating hundreds of dollarsí worth of plants for the project at the Post Office. Our efforts donít stop there. We need your continued help in keeping our community free and clear from debris, trash and weeds by participating in our monthly community cleanups and our MyLA311 campaign. For details, visit our Beautification Committee website at http://westhillsnc.org/beautification-committee.php. Thank you again and see you at our December community cleanup event!
