WHNC 4/8/17 Community Cleanup Event

On Saturday April 8 2017, the West Hills NC had another incredible cleanup tackling the forest of weeds building up on the center median islands along Platt Avenue between Victory and Vanowen. Members of the community from all walks of life including members from Troop 464 Page and board members from the WHNC to beautify West Hills. During the cleanup, we had local residents stop by and help one armed with a lawn mower the other in pajamas and a shovel. In total, we were able to clear roughly 30 bags full of weeds and debris out of this center median island. We want to thank all our volunteers and local residents who came out to help or stopped by and said hi during our cleanup. We also want to thank Starbucks, Pavilions, Nothing Bundt Cakes and Medical Center Dental Care for donating food and coffee to energize our volunteers. We also want to give a special shout out to Brad Vanderhoof and former WHNC board member Esperanza Butler for both helping clean this stretch later on in the day after the official end of the West Hills cleanup. We are so fortunate to have such great local residents and businesses in our community.
